Connectivity that grows with your business
Expanding to new branches, onboarding more users, and moving workloads to cloud apps (Microsoft 365, Teams, Google Workspace, Salesforce) puts pressure on your WAN. Screamer delivers a Managed WAN built on SD-WAN and Business Internet (Fibre/DIA, Business Wireless, Business LTE) so your network scales, stays secure, and maintains low latency for voice, POS and real-time apps.
- SD-WAN with application-aware routing — prioritise Microsoft Teams, VoIP/SIP, video, ERP and POS.
- Active-active links & automatic failover — mix Business Fibre (FTTB/DIA), Microwave and LTE/5G for resilient last-mile.
- Zero-touch deployment — ship-to-site, plug-in, policy auto-applies. Perfect for multi-site rollouts.
- Security baked in — next-gen firewalling, SASE options, ZTNA, IPS/IDS, URL/DNS filtering and per-app VPN.
- Observability — real-time monitoring, QoS for voice, path/packet loss, and SLA reports.
- South African support 24/7 — NOC escalation and managed changes (IP, QoS, VPN).

WAN & SD-WAN FAQs
Straight answers to the most-asked WAN questions — from MPLS migrations to SD-WAN, QoS, security and failover.
What is a WAN and how is it different from a LAN?
A WAN (Wide Area Network) connects sites over public or private networks (e.g., Internet, carrier backbones). A LAN connects devices within one site. SD-WAN runs as an overlay across one or more Internet links to securely join sites and clouds.
What is SD-WAN in plain English?
SD-WAN is software-defined routing across multiple links (Fibre/DIA, Wireless, LTE/5G). It identifies apps (Teams, VoIP, ERP) and sends them on the best path with QoS, encryption and central policy control.
SD-WAN vs MPLS — do we need to rip and replace?
No. Most customers start hybrid: keep MPLS where it’s required, add SD-WAN over business Internet links, then migrate site-by-site. You get redundancy, lower cost per Mbps and app-aware control.
Will SD-WAN improve voice and video quality?
Yes. SD-WAN prioritises real-time traffic, avoids loss/jitter with path conditioning, and fails over to secondary links without dropping calls.
Do we need DIA or will broadband business fibre work?
Use DIA (Dedicated Internet Access) for guaranteed throughput, strict SLAs and BGP/public ranges. Business fibre works for many branches; SD-WAN adds QoS and redundancy across mixed links.
How do you secure a WAN? (SASE / ZTNA)
Options include next-gen firewalls at sites, or cloud security via SASE: Secure Web Gateway, DNS filtering, CASB and Zero-Trust Network Access. Identity-based policies restrict who reaches which app.
What’s the migration plan from MPLS to SD-WAN?
Discovery → design (segmentation, policies) → pilot 2–3 sites → wave rollouts with change windows → optimise from telemetry. We document rollback per site and provide runbooks.
How fast can we go live?
LTE/5G day-one for quick turn-up; microwave or fibre follow per feasibility. Small/mid sites often live in days; multi-site rollouts proceed in waves.
Do you provide static IPs and routed ranges?
Yes — static IPv4/IPv6 on supported services. DIA supports routed /30–/28 and BGP. SD-WAN works with both static and dynamic addressing.
What monitoring and SLA reporting do we get?
Real-time dashboards (loss, latency, jitter, MOS for voice), alerts, and monthly SLA reports. We manage policy changes and escalation through a South African NOC.
Typical costs for a business WAN?
Costs depend on access type (DIA, business fibre, microwave, LTE), number of sites, throughput and security options. We right-size per site and bundle failover to balance performance and price.
Do you support cloud and remote users?
Yes — direct Internet breakout for SaaS, fast paths to cloud (IaaS), and ZTNA/remote-access VPN for work-from-anywhere.
Ready to simplify your WAN?
We’ll map your apps, design policies and roll out zero-touch — typically in days.
